The Board of the Royal Durban Golf Club wish to extend an invitation to your club to send a club team of eight players to its RDGC 1st National Club Championships to be held from 1 – 8 May 2016.
We are inviting all clubs from around South Africa to be part of this exciting club challenge. The first 64 clubs to confirm their intention to attend will be accommodated. Our host clubs for the week are Durban Country Club, Mount Edgecombe 1, Kloof and Royal Durban. Each team will play on each course over the four days, Monday 2nd to Thursday 5th May 2016. The top 16 clubs, after the four rounds, will play at Royal Durban on Saturday 07th May 2016 to determine the National Club Champions. The daily competitions will be betterball Stableford with prizes awarded to the best three team scores on the day. (24 prizes at each of the four host courses).
Arrival: Sunday 1st May 2016. Teams arrive & check into their hotel of choice.
Accommodation & transport (Combi’s) for “Fly In” teams will be for each club’s own account.
Registration: will be at Royal Durban Golf Club from 14.00 until 20.00.
Welcoming Function: This is an informal get together where players can meet and chat to fellow golfers from around the country. Snacks and entertainment will be provided. Drinks will be for guests’ own account.
The Tournament: Monday 2nd to Thursday 5th golf at our four host courses. The draws will be sent out well in advance so you will all know which courses & tee off times you are playing each day. Prize Giving will follow each days play & results will be displayed daily at each club.
Race Day: Friday 6th May 2016 is a free day & arrangements have been made for everyone to attend an exciting evening at Gold Circle Greyville to watch horse racing.
Final: Saturday 7th May 2016 the top 16 clubs will battle it out at Royal Durban to see who our winning team is & become our 1st National Club Champions. Prize giving dinner & entertainment will be held in the “Champions Room” at Gold Circle. Prize money to the value of R 250,000 will be shared and paid to the top five clubs after Saturday’s Final.
Dress Code: Smart casual will apply at all clubs. Club colours are to please be worn on the course.
