Tee and Sandwedges Publishers Note October 2015

The PGA season in the US has been completed and after an incredible fight between the Big Three – Jordan Spieth finished off the year at number one and to sweeten his year even more won the $10-million Fedex Series.  With Jason Day and Rory McIlroy hot on his heels 2016 certainly looks like being a bumper year for golf worldwide.

Im back on my old hobby horse – handicapping!  Lynn and I recently played three of the top Limpopo courses being Zebula, Elements and Euphoria which other than needing water desperately are in great condition.  One of the courses had a course rating of 72 while the forward tee rating was 69.  One of  the golfers said that he always played off the forward tees at his club, was handicapped off forward tees and therefore his 39 Stableford points remained at 39.  I understand that all male golfers were handicapped off the club tees and shots/points should be deducted if playing off forward tees?  Have any of our readers experienced similar problems and I look forward to hearing from you?

Our Champagne Womens event is now only four weeks away and with about 100 ladies having confirmed Im sure the group will have a great time at all 19 holes.  As one of the few males allowed at the functions Im looking forward to the “Hairspray” outfits and displays of dancing by the 28 to 80 year old youngsters!

Our Euphoria trip 11 – 13 December is filling up so get your entries in fast.

See you on the Tee
Allan Jones
