Danny Willett held off stiff competition from fellow Englishmen Matt Fitzpatrick and Tyrrell Hatton at Crans-sur-Sierre in the Swiss Alps to win the Omega European Masters and clinch his second victory on the 2015 European Tour.
The overnight co-leader carded a bogey free 65 to finish the tournament on 17 under par 263, one shot ahead of Former US Amateur champion Fitzpatrick, with Hatton two shots further back on 15 under.
This was the second time the 27-year-old tasted victory on The European Tour this season, after winning the Nedbank Golf Challenge at Sun City in December.
“It was a great final day,” Willett said. “Matt (Fitzpatrick) was snapping at my heels all day, so I’m delighted to get the job done.
“Two wins and some good performances in the Majors and the World Golf Championships this season is more than I could have hoped for really, but I have worked really hard so it is nice to get the rewards for it.”
