Ruimsig Country Club have launched their début beginner golf program for ladies, entitled ‘9 & Wine’. Welcoming a field of close to 30 ladies, golf director, Charles Jerrad opened the program by introducing the ladies to the theory of golf, as they enjoyed the wine, cheese and biscuits.

“This is a great initiative for ladies who have the urge to try their hand at golf but have not had the opportunity or encouragement to do so,” says Jerrad.

With two sessions a week, the four week-program running this month enables ladies to gain an understanding of the rules of golf, golf equipment, scoring and golf terminology to ensure they are ready to step foot onto the golf course.

“What may have been a boring theory class turned out to be quite entertaining with very good questions raised,” said Jerrad.

In the next session, ladies will partake in group lessons conducted by PGA professional, Hennie Rootman. Rootman will cover the essential pre-swing fundamentals and teach the basic swing technique.
