The flags were raised on Sunday and lowered again on Friday night. In between, 264 Sages from 29 different clubs across the country and into Namibia drove every cart we could find, walked to places we hadn’t been and produced champions who played golf as well as those half their age. Take away Mother Nature’s little tirade on Tuesday and all would have been great memories for life. The thank you letters and compliments from the participants summed up the big effort by the staff from each club, the quality of the courses and the good feelings left behind. The scores (minus Tuesday) were pretty outstanding with the winning betterball team playing here on that day. Thursday on the Links the A division was led with medal scores in the mid-70’s; the B, C, D, Ladies and Veterans all produced Stableford scores in around 40 points on both courses. The individual results reflect the quality and fair course set-ups buoyed by the near perfect golfing weather that closed out the week.
