It’s interesting how the world rankings have changed after Tiger dominated the game for such a long time. We now have the new ‘Big Three’ with Rory MciIroy, Jordan Spieth and Jason Day all vying for the number one spot. With all three being under 30, we can certainly look forward to an exciting battle.
On the local front it’s good to see the increased field sizes in both the Big Easy and IGT Tours where top amateurs and young pros get the opportunity of playing tournament golf to gauge their readiness before moving up a level to the major tours. Too many top amateurs turn professional at 18 and after spending a great deal of money heading overseas they return home to South Africa poorer and not much wiser!
During August we took a group to the Euphoria Golf Estate & Hydro and with the beautiful warm weather and the course in excellent condition a great time was had by all the golfers both on and off the course. We are planning another event to Euphoria in December and this estate is certainly highly recommended.
Lynn’s ladies event at Champagne Sports Resort in December is nearly full so get your entries in fast.
